Rutland Water Aqua Park: Keep the kids busy this summer

Visit the UK’s biggest inflatable aqua park!

While you’re staying at Rutland be sure to visit the popular Rutland Water wetland reserve and leisure area. Just minutes away from the Exton Park site you’ll find a fantastic range of activities to keep the whole family entertained, from walking to climbing and sailing!

Rutland Water is a huge lake, home to an internationally important wildlife reserve and great for walking and cycling. It’s one of the most significant wildfowl sanctuaries in the UK, with over 25,000 waterfowl regularly in attendance. However, over the other side it there are a range of more adventurous leisure activities to explore.

Rutland Water Sports Centre at Whitwell Creek is on the northern shore of the lake, just 10 minutes from Exton Park, and it’s here that you can hire wetsuits and sports gear for activities including sailing, windsurfing, kayaking, canoeing or paddle boarding. Whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned pro, you’ll find your perfect course or day out.

Of course, if you’re after something a little more relaxing, you can also spend a pleasant few hours on the beach. The beach is a relatively new addition to Rutland, having been created back in 2014, and it provides a great area from which to go swimming or simply recline on the sands.

After a successful first year, the beach is again due to host the impressive inflatable floating aqua park. The park is the largest one of its kind in the UK and consists of several huge, inflatable slides, a climbing wall and trampoline amongst other obstacles. It's great for all ages and really, really fun. The whole course is over 100m in length and will have something for children, adults and adrenaline junkies alike.
