Inn at Whitewell

This is really a grand manor house with a distinctive pub feel, serving high quality food with an impressive selection of wines and real ales. The main bar features log fires in stone fireplaces, as well as a traditional wooden bar and plenty of tables to sit down and relax in. Dogs are welcome in all the eating areas apart from the main dining room, and the Inn is right next to the River Hodder, which is a favourite route among dog walkers.

The Green Man, Inglewhite 

With spectacular views and a wonderful location, The Green Man is something of a hidden gem. Curl up with a hearty meal by a roaring log fire, or enjoy a cold drink in the beer garden. Canine visitors are also very welcome, and may even be treated to the odd biscuit or two!

Assheton Arms, Downham

Nestled in the conservation village of Downham, this is a timeless country pub with a modern twist. They are best known for their award-winning food, and are especially passionate about their seafood dishes. You can also find a good selection of hearty pub classics on the menu – ideal for digging into beside the open fire after a long walk!

The Fleece Inn, Dolphinholme

Dating back to the early 18h Century, the Fleece Inn is another charmingly traditional pub, serving award-winning food and considered one of the best gastro pubs in the Forest of Bowland. Every dish is prepared using the finest local ingredients, and there are always some exciting specials on the board. Their Sunday lunch is also well-loved, with a great selection of options that can be paired with their collection of wines and real ales.

Parkers Arms, Clitheroe

Set amongst beautifully peaceful countryside, the Parkers Arms is a lovely white inn, covered with colourful window boxes and flowers and surrounded by bright parasols and shaded tables. It’s no wonder that their outside spaces are a favourite with both locals and visitors in the summer months – as well as the surrounding tables you can find a space in the enormous beer garden and enjoy the amazing views.

The Fenwick, Claughton

The Fenwick is over 250 years old, yet manages to combine its traditional charm with a truly modern feel. It’s a lovely place to relax in front of the fire with a drink, or even tuck into a delicious locally-sourced meal. The pub is very family-friendly and welcomes children in the bar and restaurant.
